We went to Bunker Hill and saw a monument that was very cool looking and tall. It was a grey color because it was made of granite that came from a nearby quarry. We didn’t get to go inside, however it was a pretty sight. Colonists from great Britain came to this land and wanted to govern themselves. The patriots fighting this battle did get defeated, however it provided strategic gains for the patriots in their battle against Britain and impacted the Red Coat's plans at Dorchester Heights. It was a pivotal battle beginning the Revolutionary War. This monument was built because the battle took place at a bunker located on Breed's Hill which was eventually renamed Bunker Hill. It was meant to be a memorial to all those who fought and died there. I was impressed with the structure of the monument and the museum was interesting.
